BYU runners made history at the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Conner B. Mantz (’22) took a repeat individual gold, becoming the first back-to-back men’s NCAA champion since 2014–15. Whittni Orton Morgan (BS ’21) claimed the individual title in the women’s race—the first in BYU history. Together they were the first individual champions from the same school since 1988 (and just the second pair in NCAA history). “I visualized it for days,” Morgan told ESPN.
