So much for a rebuilding year. After making it all the way to the 2021 title game with a senior-laden squad, the BYU women’s soccer team finished 2022 with its first-ever repeat appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. In the 2022 tourney the Cougars defeated Utah Valley and then Stanford in penalty kicks before a loss against the University of North Carolina. “It’s always tough to lose, especially when it ends your season,” said Coach Jennifer Rockwood (BS ’89). But with this year’s talent returning next season , she notes, “we have a lot to look forward to in the future.”
