In January at the 2023 Razorback Track and Field Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, BYU distance runner Casey A. Clinger (’23) shattered a 38-year-old school record held by none other than his coach, BYU track and field director Edward D. Eyestone (BS ’85, MS ’90). “I’m happy to relinquish my school record,” Eyestone says. “[Casey] worked hard and executed a perfect race.” Clinger finished first in the 3,000m at 7:43.96. Two months later Clinger blazed to a second-place finish in the 5,000m at the NCAA Indoor Championship.
