For seven years, BYU Alumni Association Church history tours have taken alumni to such sites as Nauvoo, Ill., the Hill Cumorah, and the Sacred Grove.

Nearly 6,000 alumni and friends have traveled to sacred Church history sites since the Alumni Association began providing the tours for the Nauvoo Temple open house in 2002. This year motor coaches took participants to Palmyra, Kirtland, Independence, Nauvoo, and surrounding areas during both the summer and fall. “Whenever I get a tour evaluation that says the trip has been a life-changing experience for them and their families because of the way it strengthened their faith, I know why I serve as a tour host,” says Sally Ripple, who has taken groups to Church sites for seven years.
