During the summer of 1950 the Cougar men’s basketball team took its first trip abroad—a 33-day tour of South America—where the team won 12 straight games, visited local church branches, and donned these iconic warm-ups. The squad featured standouts Mel R. Hutchins (BS ’51), kneeling, fourth from left, and Roland T. Minson (BS ’52), behind Hutchins. They would later win the NIT Championship. (Courtesy L.
