Health and Life Insurance Available to Alumni

The BYU Alumni Association, in connection with major providers, has established affordable health and life insurance programs that are available to alumni.

GradMed, a short-term health insurance program, was developed for alumni temporarily without coverage, such as those between jobs or new graduates not yet covered by an employer’s plan. The insurance bases its rates on age and gender, and costs only about $1.50 a day (depending on locale). It is available up to 180 days, has several deductibles to choose from, and is underwritten by Fidelity Security Life Insurance Co.

MajorMed+, the major medical program, is renewable up to age 65 and for children up to age 23. It also has several deductibles to choose from and offers limited maternity coverage.

For more information concerning these health insurance plans, call American Insurance Administrators at 1-800-922-1245.

Additionally, the Alumni Association is pleased to remind you of the Group Term Life Insurance Program offered in most states through Beneficial Life. This program not only provides coverage from one of the most reputable insurance companies in America, but also benefits students, faculty, and alumni through Replenishment Grants, alumni professorships, and a variety of other programs.
