Finals Survival Kits

When Desarae K. Apuna (’09) received a Finals Survival Kit from her parents during her freshman year in 2005, she was the only person in her wing of Helaman Halls to get one and her roommates were envious.

“I felt loved,” she says, “and I knew my parents in Molokai, Hawaii, were thinking about me during this stressful time of year.”

Once again parents can connect with their students through the Alumni Association’s Finals Survival Program. The kit includes a guide for surviving finals (including BYU devotional addresses), a long-sleeved T-shirt, a mug filled with soup and cocoa packets, granola bars, Pop-Tarts, pencils, and more.

“We hope this will help ease students’ stress a little bit,” says Seth L. Marsing (’08), the Student Alumni Association vice president in charge of parent-student relations.

INFO: Finals Survival Kits are hand delivered a week before finals. They cost $29 each and can be ordered online at alumni.byu.edu. Orders must be received by Dec. 1.
