Adam’s Dream: Rodney Smith Photography

A photograph of a man bending over backwards to look up at a similarly dressed man who is sitting and looking down at him from a very oddly formed tree.

On display in the Museum of Art through Jan. 16, this exhibition highlights the unique visual language of noted photographer Rodney Smith. Visitors to this exhibition will delight in the way Smith creates black and white images that emphasize simplicity, classical beauty, and moments of gentle humor and whimsy. Smith’s photographs are a conscious counterbalance to the ugliness of the contemporary media environment. In contrast to the trendy grit and sensation regularly employed in fashion and advertising, Smith creates images of timeless beauty, superb style, and penetrating wit. Admission is free.
