Senior Jodi Norton (’08) broke BYU’s single-season home-run record as the Cougars swept the New Mexico Lobos on May 3. Norton hit 23 home runs this year.


John D. Beck (BA ’06) was the fourth quarterback selected in the 2007 NFL Draft—the highest NFL draft position of a BYU quarterback since Jim R. McMahon (’81) went in the first round in 1982. Beck joins the Miami Dolphins.


The Cougarettes won the National College Cheer and Dance Team Championship for the seventh time—the team’s third consecutive title.


In their Orem garage, former BYU students Chad S. Broderick (’89) and Mitchell D. McCuistion (’85) formulated the idea for the Cougar House project back in 2001, hoping to build a house, sell it, and pass all proceeds on to BYU athletics. Cutting the ribbon for Cougar House VII this year, they’ve now raised a total of $1 million, which funds two fully endowed scholarships each year.
