Protecting Communities

Just as physical levees protect communities from floodwaters, moral levees protect communities from the flood of vices in society, says Christopher Q. Stevenson (BS ’94), president of the Community Levee Association. The Loudoun County, Va., lobbying group brings together people of various religious and cultural backgrounds who have a common interest in encouraging and defending virtue in the county. Cofounded by Darin M. Lowder (BA ’93), the group includes BYU alumni Kathryn Bowers Chapman (BS ’75) and Clifford I. (BS ’80) and Merilee Bezzant Cummings (BS ’82).
