Parking for Visiting Alumni

The university has designated two parking areas for visitors: One area (Lot 2 Visitor) is located north and east of the Museum of Art and has nearly 400 parking stalls; the other (Lot 26 Visitor) is south of the J. Reuben Clark Law Building and has about 115 parking stalls (see map below). Both visitor parking locations have several timed stalls adjacent to them to accommodate short-term parking needs.

The visitor lots described above are the only places available on campus to park without a BYU parking permit.

However, if the designated parking areas do not meet the needs of a visitor for a particular situation, the Traffic Office may issue a temporary visitor’s parking permit. For example, if an alum needs to visit someone living in Deseret Towers, where a permit is required prior to 4 p.m., a visitor/guest permit can be obtained from the Traffic Office.

If you receive a citation, you must contact the Traffic Office within 14 days to pay the fine or to initiate an appeal. There is helpful information on the back of the citation. Throwing away the citation can create problems for you or for someone using your vehicle.

If you are planning to visit campus and are not sure where to park, please contact the Traffic Office at (801) 378-3906 or 378-2610. The office is located at 700 East 1430 North, Provo, UT 84602, just east of the Carillon Tower.
