Vocal Combo Places 1st
BYU’s Vocal Jazz Combo was awarded first prize as the outstanding college vocal jazz combo in the open division at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho. Garin V. Fuhriman, ’05, won first place in the college tenor solo division.
Honorable Mention
When the U.S. Supreme Court issued its recent decision upholding a law that bans “soft money” contributions to political parties and requires greater disclosure of interest group electioneering activities, the Court cited research by David B. Magleby, BYU professor of political science and dean of the College of Family, Home and Social Sciences.
