Fiction Feeds Science

Nancy O. Fulda (BS ’02) received the 2011 Jim Baen Memorial Award. The award, created to honor renowned science fiction publisher Jim Baen, applauds the role science fiction plays in advancing real science and is given annually for a science fiction story that demonstrates both exceptional literary quality and stringent scientific accuracy. Fulda’s winning story, “The Undiscovered Country,” will appear as the leading story on the Baen Books website later this year. The award is jointly sponsored by Baen Books and the National Space Society. Fulda was honored at the 2011 International Space Development Conference in Huntsville, Ala.
