There’s a new name in the David O. McKay School of Education—the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is now the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. “We think the name change will better serve our department and students,” says department chair David L. McPherson (BS ’67). “It is better aligned to the mission of our programs.”

Administrative VP Appointed
President Cecil O. Samuelson has appointed Brian K. Evans (BS ’80) as administrative vice president of BYU. Evans will retain his responsibility as the university’s chief financial officer—a position he has held since 2003. Brad W. Farnsworth (BS ’79), who had served as administrative vice president since August 1994, now presides over the Spain Madrid Mission.
