At the end of 2025, the Abraham O. Smoot Building was demolished to be replaced by a new administration building. Construction for the new building is expected to be finished by fall 2028. It will house both university administrative offices as well as student services, such as enrollment, housing, financial aid, scholarships, communications, and counseling and psychological services. “While the ASB served the BYU community well for decades,” says administration vice president and CFO Steven J. Hafen (BA ’92, MBA ’96), “this new facility is a strategic investment that will help further strengthen the student experience.”
