BYU’s Own Mr. Rogers (aka Dorie Haws) on the Honesty of Children

Children aren’t brutally honest, explains Dorie Haws, head teacher at the BYU Child and Family Studies Lab. They’re just calling it how they see it! Taking her cue from Mr. Rogers, Haws has found that learning to listen and really understand children leads to inspiring findings: the complexity of their minds, the beauty of having no filter, and the strength of their connection to God. When working with children, Dorie Haws feels it is “a beautiful day is in the neighborhood.”
