Award Nominees Sought

The Alumni Association honors several outstand-ing BYU alumni during Homecoming each year. The board of directors for the Alumni Association encourages interested individuals to participate in the 2000 awards by nominating candidates for the following:

Alumni Distinguished Service Award. This award is given to alumni of BYU who have provided outstanding service to their professions, community, nation, or church.

Alumni Service to Family Award. This award is given to BYU alumni for outstanding service rendered in a home environment, including extended family. It may be given to an individual or a family.

Honorary Alumni Award. This award is given to those who have not attended BYU but have rendered outstanding and significant service to the university.

Nominees should manifest high moral character and religious virtues but are not required to be members of the LDS Church. Current BYU employees and members of the university’s governing boards, including General Authorities, are not eligible.

If you know an individual who meets the criteria for any of these awards, please request a nomination form from BYU Alumni Awards administrator DyAnn Houston, 229 ALUM, Provo, UT 84602-2450. Requests may also be submitted by e-mail (dyann_houston@byu.edu). Nominations must be received by Feb. 1, 2000.
