Sandra Dudley Turley (BFA ’02), who was the last to play Cosette in the original Broadway production of Les Misérables, has released Sandra Turley: On Broadway, a tribute album of her Broadway favorites, on Shadow Mountain Records.
The Gaithersburg, Md., mother of three says of her Broadway experience, “I loved what I learned and what I became in an environment that caused me to question the deepest parts of who I am and what I believe,” she says. “It was not easy. It was not glamorous. It was testing, and it was difficult. But so much of who I am today is defined by those three years of my life—the three years of performing on stage, yes, but more so the three years of studying, learning, thinking, and becoming.”
Covering songs that resonate with Turley, On Broadway includes “For Good” from Wicked, “Astonishing” from Little Women, and hits from five other classic and contemporary musicals. The album also includes a medley from Les Misérables that Turley coarranged with composer and performer Kurt R. Bestor (BA ’93).
