Captain of BYU football’s defense, Bryan M. Kehl (’08) led the Cougars in solo tackles and in interceptions during the 2007 season, helping the Cougar defense earn a no. 1 ranking in the Mountain West Conference and a no. 9 ranking for rushing defense nationally. Even though he tears apart his opponents on the field, Kehl also has a penchant for putting things together: he frequently tries to beat his best time solving a Rubik’s Cube, a task he says is not so different from his strategy on the field. “You analyze and check where things are, and then you adjust based on what you have found in patterns,” Kehl says. “You look at something and then you attack it.”
