Four new national titles will be displayed in the Smith Fieldhouse thanks to the performance of these six Cougars at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in March. It is the most national championships BYU has won in one meet. Miles B. Batty (’12) was named National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year (see p. 22). BYU’s distance medley relay team captured the national title with a time of 9:29.28, breaking the BYU record for the event by more than four seconds. Overall, the men’s track team took third place—its best finish ever; the women’s team finished 15th. Both BYU teams were MWC indoor champions. | Photography: Bradley Slade
