On the Moove

Cow-milk consumption has declined 52 percent since 1970. Hoping to save the milk mustaches, local dairy farmers recruited BYU students from food science and industrial and graphic design to reimagine modern milk with clever and conservation-minded packaging. Their ideas—such as reusable glass containers to be topped off at milk-refill stations; compostable bottles made from paper pulp and seaweed plastic; and paper cartons filled with gulp-sized plastic pods of milk—were presented at conferences in Spain and France over the summer.
