THE National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame selected BYU senior Jared T. Lee as one of 16 football players in the 2000 class of National College Scholar-Athletes. Each scholar-athlete received an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship and was honored at the Foundation’s 43rd Annual Awards Dinner in New York City. A native of Rexburg, Idaho, Lee maintained a 3.96 grade-point average as a history major and plans to attend dental school after he graduates. The 6-foot-0, 210-pound safety led BYU‘s team with 96 tackles as a junior and ranked second on the roster for the 2000 season with 71 tackles, including 41 unassisted and 30 assisted takedowns.
