BYU Students Receive High Honors


Nine BYU students and alumni were awarded the acclaimed National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF), which offers $14,400 for 12 month tenures. The award was given to only 765 of the 5,276 students who applied nationwide. The fellowship is one of the most prestigious for graduate work in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. Recipients of the grant include three alumni: Bruce Kent Gale of Sandy, Utah; William Lee Henstrom of Provo; and Randall Theodore Peterson of Arlington, Md. The students who received the grant include David Lawrence Fearnley of Provo; Bruce McRae Green of Mesa, Ariz.; Lee Carson Loveridge of Long Beach, Calif.; Michael Lee Mitton of Salem, Ore.; Nikkala Alison Pack of Provo; and Dean Richard Wheeler of Escalante, Utah.
