Bishop (BA ’76; Vonita Hicks [BS ’75]; Etna, Calif.) was honored as Siskiyou County’s Middle School Principal of the Year for 2010–11 and for the same period went on to win the Association of California School Administrators Region 1 Middle Grades Principal of the Year. Tom E. Haraldsen (BA ’76; Sylvia; Kearns, Utah) published his first young adult novel, Dreaming of Hope. He is a newspaper editor and serves as Utah Headliners Chapter president for the Society of Professional Journalists.

1978 | Michelle Milne King (BA ’78; Steven D. [BFA ’79]; Bountiful, Utah) hosts the Mormon Times show, which airs Sunday mornings on KSL TV. The show shares the stories and testimonies of well-known LDS authors, artists, and musicians, as well as everyday members. She took the position after she and her husband returned from presiding over the Georgia Atlanta North Mission.
1979 | Robert D. Griffiths (BA ’79, MPP Harvard University ’82; Jeanne Decker [BS ’82]; Shanghai) has been appointed U.S. Consul General in Shanghai. He has had a 28-year career with the U.S. Foreign Service, serving in Colombia, Taiwan, Thailand, and China.

Ron Anderson (BS ’81, MS ’83, MD University of Utah ’87; Swan Tan [AA ’70]; Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) was elected to the board of directors of Southern California Permanente Medical Group, a 5,500-physician medical group providing medical care to 3.3 million people in Southern California. Flint J. Stephens (BA ’81, MA ’87; Anette Leavitt [BS ’91]; Highland, Utah) has published Mormon Parenting Secrets: Time-Tested Methods for Raising Exceptional Children. The book explains how parents today can understand and apply basic principles to connect more effectively with their children.
1982 | Michael C. Perry (BA ’82; Sharon; Tallahassee, Fla.) has authored The Miracle of Mirador, part one of the Daniel Light and the Children of the Orb series. He is also a seasoned actor, performer, composer, and playwright as well as a director of more than 40 shows. James R. Pratt (BA ’82, JD ’85; Debra Moss [AS ’82]; Winter Park, Fla.) has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2012 for his work in real estate law. There he was an influence for good, especially with one young man whom he offered his own Sunday clothes to wear to receive the priesthood.Melinda Noble Grenier (BS ’96; Kenneth; New Market, Md.) was reelected to serve as the president of the Maryland Criminal Justice Association, the Maryland chapter of the American Correctional Association.
1997 | Stephanie Hall Meredith (BA ’97, MA ’99; Justin T. [’01]; Canton, Ga.) participated in an international diplomacy trip to Russia to provide expertise on Down syndrome. She also has coauthored the book Diagnosis to Delivery: A Pregnant Mother’s Guide to Down Syndrome and authored the booklet Understanding a Down Syndrome Diagnosis.
