From Student to YSA: BYU was home to the first student wards and stakes created by the Church 55 years ago. Now, instead of student wards, the Church is sponsoring young single adult (YSA) wards formed of singles—students or
otherwise—ages 18 to 30. For most BYU students, the change is in name only, losing the student designation and school affiliation. The change will have wider impact along the Wasatch Front. The official Church news release explaining the change can be found at more.byu.edu/YSAwards.
