FACULTY, STAFF HONORED AT UNIVERSITY
CONFERENCE

Susan Easton Black, a professor of Church history and doctrine, was named this year's Karl G. Maeser Distinguished Faculty Lecturer, the university's highest faculty honor. A member of the BYU faculty since 1979, she received the award at the Annual University Conference on August 21. Black was honored for her teaching ethic and the creativity she brings to her classes. She will speak at a university forum Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

Top staff members honored were Colleen Fossum of the Humanities Advisement Center, who received the Fred A. Schwendiman Performance Award, and R. Wayne Hansen of BYU Employment Services, who was given the Ben E. Lewis Management Award.

In addition, 42 BYU faculty members received awards recognizing their excellence in teaching, research, creative works, or citizenship.
