STAGING TUDOR’S WORKS
“Dancing for Anthony Tudor changed you as a dancer and as a person,” says Amanda McKerrow, the former principal ballerina in the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). McKerrow and her husband, John Gardner, another former ABT star, are part of the last generation of dancers who worked with Tudor, and in December they spent two weeks at BYU setting two of the renowned choreographer’s works. It is the first time professionals of McKerrow and Gardner’s caliber have instructed at BYU, says Ballet Showcase Theatre director Shani Olson Robison (BA ’95), who secured a Fulton grant to bring them here.
