In 2004, Chris Dunker began photographing Geneva Steel Works, located in Vineyard, Utah. Within three years, Geneva, the largest steel mill west of the Mississippi, ceased to exist—after more than 50 years of operation. The Museum of Art exhibit Dismantling Geneva Steel: Photographs by Chris Dunker documents the vacated space and silenced machinery in this once-productive facility.

BYU Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus

Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus will combine their harmonious sounds for a joint concert conducted by Rosalind Hall and Jean Applonie. Some of BYU’s best voices are showcased in these audition-only choirs; 400 students or more try out for each choir every year. The choruses will draw from a diverse repertoire ranging from folk songs to spiritual strains.

Kresimir Cosic Documentary
The new BYU documentary An Off-Court Story: The Life of Kresimir Cosic digs into the legacy of the BYU cager and gold medalist who declined offers to play in the NBA to return home to play for Croatia. Interviews with Cosic’s family, Gordan Giricek of the Utah Jazz, and President Thomas S. Monson illuminate Cosic’s influence as the first Church member in communist Croatia.

The Cougar hockey team, formerly known as the Provo IceCats, will skate through the 2007–08 season wearing BYU jerseys. The extramural team will face the University of Utah in one of its final games prior to the national tournament hosted by the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
