1957 | Reed L. Moss, '57, JD George Washington University '60 (Elizabeth), Ririe, Idaho, was awarded the 2003 Idaho State Bar Professionalism Award.

1961 | Charles Robert Pursley, '61, JD University of Arizona '72 (Carole), Central, Ariz., retired as judge of the Superior Court of Graham County, Ariz. He served as presiding juvenile court judge.

1966 | Bob L. Beeten, MS '66 (Jenny), Monument, Colo., the first director of sports medicine for the United States Olympic Committee, was honored to have the Sports Medicine Clinic at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs named after him. Linda J. Carpenter, '66, MS '67, JD Fordham Law School '81, PhD University of Southern California '93, received the American Bar Association Business Law Section's Outstanding Nonprofit Attorney-Outstanding Academic Award for 2003.

1969 | John E. Goodman, '69, MS '70, PhD Kennedy-Western University '00 (Shirley Bigler, '70), Buffalo Grove, Ill., is president of the Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association.

1970 | Paul W. Tucker, '70, MBA '72 (Patricia Kings, '68), Seattle, is the administrator of Highline Community Hospital.

1971 | Coyt R. Johnston, '71 (Sandra Scharman, '72), Dallas, was elected president of the Dallas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates for 2004.

1972 | Gary W. Clark, '72, MS '76 (Kim Willis, '72), Murray, Utah, received the Association for Career and Technical Education Outstanding Service Award. Clark teaches marketing and business classes at Granite High School in Salt Lake City. Cheryl Groom Merrick, '72 (Garrett, '78), Mapleton, Utah, is the editor of the city newsletter for Mapleton. She also teaches creative writing at Mapleton Elementary School.

1974 | Kathleen Flake, '74, Nashville, Tenn., has written a book, The Politics of American Religious Identity: The Seating of Senator Reed Smoot, Mormon Apostle. Debra F. Hobbins, AS '74, BS California State University, Long Beach; MS California State University, Dominguez Hills; Salt Lake City, was elected president of the 2004 board of directors of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.

1975 | D. Leron Gubler, '75, MPA '78 (Audrey Matsumoto, '90), La Crescenta, Calif., president and chief executive officer of the Hollywood, Calif., Chamber of Commerce, was installed as chair of the Western Association of Chamber Executives.

1976 | Wayne M. McArthur, MBA '76 (Janet Murri, '70), St. George, Utah, was activated in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is serving as the reserve component integration officer for the 500th Military Group in Camp Zama, Japan.

1977 | Connie Hanks McVey, '77 (Samuel, '83), Salem, Utah, was chosen as the Volunteer of the Year to help celebrate Salem Days. She started the Salem three-steps program, which prepares citizens for emergencies and natural disasters.

1978 | Mark D. Bradshaw, '78, JD California Western School of Law '81 (Kay Gunnell, '74), Mesa, Ariz., was accepted as an LLM candidate at the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. Garrett R. Merrick, '78 (Cheryl Groom, '72), Mapleton, Utah, was promoted to building equipment mechanic at the Provo post office.

1981 | Janine Simons Creager, '81 (Randy, '82), Farmington, Utah, took first place in a statewide contest by the League of Utah Writers with her book of scripture-based inspiration, Lost and Found on the Pathway to Peace. Jim S. Gebhard, '81, MD UCLA '86 (Helen Hanson, '78), Grand Junction, Colo., was elected to serve on the board of education for the Mesa County Valley School District, which serves more than 20,000 students. David M. Hinman, '81 (Carol), Martin, Tenn., is general manager of public television station WLJT.

1983 | Edward J. Godlewski, '83 (Wendy Williams, '87), Salt Lake City, was appointed senior vice president for Wells Fargo Investments. He is responsible for providing investment strategies for individuals and business customers. Samuel D. McVey, JD '83 (Connie Hanks, '77), Salem, Utah, received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America. He has been involved in Scouting for nearly 40 years.

1984 | Carol Goodwin Allred, '84, MM Eastman School of Music '87, DMA '89 (Brady, '85), Salt Lake City, was appointed to the music faculty at the University of Utah School of Music. Karen Kelsch Mildenhall, '84 (Guy, '86), Glendale, Calif., was promoted to managing director in the Los Angeles office of Marsh, a risk and insurance services firm. Mildenhall is the company's national practice leader for the middle market division. Gary S. Reynolds, '84 (Sally Warne, '82), Hurlburt, Fla., was appointed inspector general for the 16th Special Operation Wing in the U.S. Air Force.

1985 | Brady R. Allred, '85, MM Eastman School of Music '87, DMA '90 (Carol Goodwin, '84) Salt Lake City, was appointed to the music faculty at the University of Utah School of Music. Allred is director of choral conducting. P. Michael Karr, '85 (Cheryl Lofgreen, '75), Orem, Utah, a filmmaker for Seen by Scene Communications, was the recipient of the Crystal Communicator Award for his work on a 30-second TV commercial.

1986 | Robert Auman, '86, MS Boston University '89, MBA '89 (Diana), Longmont, Colo., was elected to the board of education of the St. Vrain Valley School District. The district has 38 schools and serves 22,000 students.

1987 | Michael J. O'Brien, MS '87, (Lisa), Pewaukee, Wis., was appointed to director of information technology at Jefferson Wells. He will be responsible for business systems, infrastructure, and IT operations.

1988 | Jeffrey P. Rice, '88, MS '90 (Karen Linde, '92), Medford, Ore., received his doctor of audiology degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences.

1990 | Alison A. Caldwell-Andrews, '90, (Ronald), Rockfall, Conn., received a PhD from the University of Kentucky in 2000 and became a licensed clinical psychologist. She was appointed to the faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology at Yale University School of Medicine. John R. Doty, '90, MD Georgetown University '94 (Kristy Robertson, '92), Sandy, Utah, completed a general surgery residency and a fellowship in cardiac surgery at Johns Hopkins University. He accepted a position with Salt Lake Cardiovascular at LDS Hospital. Kenneth D. Feitz, '90 (Joey), Longmont, Colo., is COO and vice president of the board of directors of Strategic Reach.

1991 | David A. McEntire, '91, PhD University of Denver '00 (Kimberly McKee, '91), Corinth, Texas, is an assistant professor and coordinator of the Emergency Administration and Planning Program in the Department of Public Administration at the University of North Texas.

1992 | R. William Beard Jr., '92, JD South Texas College of Law '95, Houston, was appointed to a special counsel position with the law firm of Baker Botts.

1993 | M. Larkin Hastriter, '93, MS Air Force Institute of Technology '97, PhD University of Illinois '03 (Bethany Baum, '93), Fairborn, Ohio, has been part of a research team at the University of Illinois that has developed a way to solve a problem with 20 million unknowns on a small cluster of 10 relatively inexpensive networked computer workstations. Among its applications is the ability in military battle to better target the enemy and minimize the incident of friendly fire. Frank F. Judd Jr., '93, MA '95, MA University of North Carolina '97 (Jill Fillmore, '95), Orem, Utah, completed a PhD in religious studies from the University of North Carolina. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Ancient Scripture at BYU. Chad W. King, '93, JD '96 (Stephanie Ebert, '92), Rowlett, Texas, was named partner of Hughes & Luce in Dallas. He practices in the areas of technology licensing, Internet law, e-commerce law, intellectual property law, corporate law, and business law. David H. Tolk, '93, JD University of Utah '96 (Lisa Harris, '93), Draper, Utah, practices as an associate attorney with the law firm of Richards, Brandt, Miller & Nelson. As a pianist and composer, he released a CD, Sacred, with 10 arrangements of Christian hymns.

1994 | Sarah Busse Spencer, MS '94 (Aron), Elizabeth, N.J., received a PhD from the University of Chicago in sociology. She teaches sociology at Drew University in Madison, N.J. Larry P. Salazar, '94, Price, Utah, was the creative developer for a 30-second TV commercial that won the Crystal Communicator Award. Brett L. Tolman, '94, JD '98 (Rebecca Thurgood, '95), Washington, D.C., accepted a one-year appointment as a staff attorney on the Senate Judiciary Committee with Utah senator Orrin Hatch.

1995 | Eric V. Hastriter, '95, Greenville, N.C., received an MD in June 2003 from St. George's University. He is in a pediatric residency at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Vincent M. Liddiard, '95, MS Utah State University '97 (Mariann Swain, '95), Eagle Mountain, Utah, is a city council member in Eagle Mountain, where he is responsible for economic development and public safety. He also works full-time as a program manager for the U.S. Army. Josh M. Reid, '95, MS Yale University '97, JD University of Arizona '00 (Tamsen Burk, '93), Salt Lake City, joined the environmental, energy, and natural resources department at Parsons Behle & Latimer as an attorney.

1996 | Ritchie W. Taylor, '96, JD '99 (Bethie), Apex, N.C., was elected a shareholder in the law firm of Manning, Fulton & Skinner. Ritchie concentrates his practice in franchise law, corporate and partnership law, and taxation. Eric Teel, '96, MAcc '96 (Bobbi Coleman, '94), Peoria, Ariz., was appointed CFO of CMX, a civil-engineering firm. He is responsible for managing all of CMX's accounting, finance, legal, human-resource, and operational functions. Ganelle Green Smith, '95 (David '95), Centennial, Colo., put a teaching career on hold to care for her two sons. She is enrolled in graduate school at the University of Colorado.

1997 | Scott E. Huber, '97 (Debbie Peterson, '96), Roseville, Calif., received a JD from the University of the Pacific (UOP) and joined the law firm of Best Best & Krieger. He is adjunct faculty at UOP's School of Law in the Appellate Advocacy Department. Kathy Terwiske Wunderli, '97, JD Georgetown University '01 (Michael A. Wunderli, '97), Manhattan Beach, Calif., is an attorney specializing in trust and estate taxation. Michael A. Wunderli, '97, MBA University of Pennsylvania '03 (Kathy Terwiske, '97), Manhattan Beach, Calif., works for Lehman Brothers, a global investment bank, in the wealth and asset management division.

1998 | Jared B. Larson, '98, MAcc '98 (Tracy Clark, '97), Bountiful, Utah, was promoted to audit manager at the professional services firm of Deloitte & Touche. Jared C. Pearce, '98, MA '00 (Jaime Gray, '00), Muncie, Ind., received a PhD in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2003. He is teaching at Ball State University. Bryce A. Suzuki, '98, MA '00, JD University of Iowa '03 (Katherine Ballantyne, '00), Iowa City, Iowa, is an attorney with Bryan Cave, where he will practice in the Commercial Litigation Client Service Group.

2000 | Jason C. Bagley, '00 (Jill), Salt Lake City, is an associate creative director at W Communications. Ryan Little, '00 (Lynnita), Eagle Mountain, Utah, won a Crystal Heart Award and the grand prize at Heartland Film Festival with his film, Saints and Soldiers. Christopher Corbett, '00 (Eliza Ybarra, '00) Phoenix, began work on a psychology doctorate at Argosy University. He plans to specialize in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Eliza Ybarra Corbett, '00, JD '03 (Christopher, '00), Phoenix, joined the law firm of Brown & Bain. She will concentrate her practice in business litigation. Anthony W. Merrill, '00, JD '03 (Jody Nelson, '00), Chandler, Ariz., joined Bryan Cave as an associate and will practice in the firm's Environmental Client Service Group. Jason K. Reed, '00, JD '03 (J. Renee Cox, '00), Gilbert, Ariz., is an associate with Bryan Cave and will practice in the Class and Derivative Actions Client Service Group.

2001 | William B. Bayne, '01 (Garaghty Kramer, '00), Orem, Utah, opened the Smokehouse Pizza and BBQ restaurant in Orem. It has received positive reviews in the Daily Universe and the Daily Herald. David J. Womeldorf, '01 (Jessica Smith, '01), San Diego, graduated with a master's in accounting from San Diego State University. He works with Ernst & Young in the tax department.

2002 | Thomas G. Carter, '02, Missoula, Mont., is manager of community affairs and group sales for the Missoula Osprey, a professional baseball team. Blaine J. Johnson, '02, Provo, is director of the Paramita Group, a nonprofit organization working with the exiled Tibetan government to train volunteers in human-development strategies.
