basketball

Former Cougar forward Lee C. Cummard (BS ’09) signed a contract to play professionally in Germany for Alba Berlin, the team that won the 2009 National Cup. Cummard is 10th on BYU’s all-time scorers list.

FOOTBALL

Former BYU defensive back Kellen T. Fowler (BS ’08) was named the 2008–09 MWC Male Student-Athlete of the Year. Fowler is now attending law school at the University of Virginia.

GOLF

BYU golfers Robbie F. Fillmore (’10) and Brady M. Johnson (’10) were honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America as Cleveland Golf / Srixon All-America Scholars.

SOCCER

Senior defender Andrea N. Willis (’09) is on the watch list for the Hermann Trophy, the Heisman of women’s soccer.

SWIMMING

After being the only BYU swimmer to make it to the 2009 NCAA Championships, sophomore Rachel Grant (’11) represented Hong Kong at the Universiade Belgrade 2009. Grant placed 12th in the 400-meter individual medley, 11th in the 400-meter free relay, and 18th in the 200-meter butterfly.

TENNIS

Joey Johnson is the new head coach of the women’s tennis team, replacing Craig L. Manning (BS ’96), who left to pursue a career in sports psychology.
