New CES Commissioner

Elder Paul V. Johnson (BS ’78) of the First Quorum of the Seventy began serving as commissioner of the Church Educational System in August, replacing Elder W. Rolfe Kerr, who has been called to serve as president of the Logan Utah Temple.

Advancement VP

Kevin J Worthen (BA ’79), former dean of the Law School, is BYU’s new advancement vice president, appointed by President Cecil O. Samuelson. Worthen replaces K. Fred Skousen (BS ’65), who retired after 38 years at BYU.

GE Dean

John D. Bell (BS ’82) has been appointed dean of undergraduate education, now supervising BYU’s First-Year Experience, Freshman Academy, General Education, the Honors Program, and University Writing.
