CAMPUS NOTES

Associate Academic Vice President Richard N. Williams (BS ’74) was appointed director of BYU’s new Wheatley Institution, an organization that will encourage and fund the collaborative research of BYU professors teamed with scholars from universities across the nation. The goal of the institute is to produce scholarship of consequence that lifts and preserves society’s core institutions, focusing on family, education, and ethics. The institution is funded by generous donors who want to enhance the scholarly work produced by BYU faculty, increase the visibility of BYU, and thus further the university’s ability to make a positive impact in key social institutions.
