BRIMHALL ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS

As part of the annual George H. Brimhall Memorial Essay Contest, Homecoming 2006 honored six students for their essays about early BYU educator Alice Louise Reynolds and the Homecoming theme, Lighter of Lamps.

First Place

Conversations with Alice by Julie E. DeLong (’07)

A student imagines a conversation with Alice Louise Reynolds, someone she only knows from journals and biographies.


Third Place

Light as Literature, Literature as Light by Julie Towne Espinosa (’07)

In the pages of a time-worn novel, a student finds light.
